Prompt: Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific undergraduate College or School (including preferred admission and dual degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests?

I aspire to be the first in my family to attain a four-year college degree in the United States, breaking my ancestors’ historical cycle in skilled trades by pursuing a liberal arts education. At the University of Michigan, my dream is to become a change-maker, a social entrepreneur, and a leader who unites communities in the art industry.

Building the [Organization] has been the highlight of my experience in high school, and I aspire for it to be the highlight of my experience at Ross. Collaborating on my social venture with University of Michigan students [Student 1], [Student 2], [Student 3], and [Student 4] has enabled me to witness—in action—Ross’s values of embracing a growth mindset and striving for excellence and impact. As a result, it has kindled an ambition within me to thrive in the Bachelor of Business Administration program.

Learning about the intricacies of business operation in “Introduction to Ross: Foundations in Learning Business,” speaking with Professor David Wooten about social influences on consumption, and participating with friends at the pro-bono Capital Consulting Group would equip me to pursue a career as a social entrepreneur, building ventures that push society forward.

At Ross, I could pursue my dream of pitching a social venture by collaborating with my peers at the REAL START program. I have so many ideas that I would love to introduce. For example, in order to democratize art publication, what if we could create an online platform that offers a direct pipeline to digital art showcases? While I toyed around with this idea by becoming a [Company] Partner this past year, I still wonder about the possibility of making a new online platform to provide even greater accessibility within art publication. At the Michigan Business Challenge and Desai Accelerator, I can make that “wonder” a reality. By working with my peers in a collaborative environment and participating in a program that would enable me to explore my creativity, I could utilize the opportunities at the University of Michigan in order to build social-impact-focused businesses that make a positive difference.

Additionally, I have always sought to work with the 200+ participants at my [Organization] from across the world in Australia, and Ross’s global internship in Australia and New Zealand would provide me with the perfect opportunity to do just that. By interning at a multinational entertainment company in Australia, I would be able to learn about international business practices in the art industry. As an added bonus, Ross’s program would provide me with a cross-cultural learning opportunity to meet many of my peers at [Organization] in person!

I have always dreamed big, and I hope that my education at Michigan Ross will provide me with the tools to make an even bigger impact in the art industry. I aim to use my education at Ross to strengthen my skills in business leadership and expand accessibility within the art industry, enabling me to develop [Organization] into my lifelong venture of social entrepreneurship.
