I ended up going into the college application process very late—I didn't start writing essays until late-September, and spent the bulk of my first senior semester (and winter Break) grinding out supplementary essays (Do not recommend...). All that being said, I never imagined the success I found in my application, given that I went to a small public school in a rural area.
