big into operating systems and stand-up comedy!
As an international student from a public high school in Germany, applying to US universities felt as rare as a unicorn sighting. With no school counselors and teachers who seemed as lost as I was when it came to writing recommendation letters, I faced the daunting college application process like a lone explorer in uncharted territory. But fear not! My older brothers, veterans of the US college admissions battlefield through sports scholarships, stepped in as my trusty guides in this labyrinthine adventure. In 2021, I bravely sent out regular decision applications to a formidable group of nine schools, and lo and behold, six of them welcomed me with open arms—including Stanford, Harvard, and Rice. After much contemplation, I chose Stanford, because of its stellar STEM focus, and I've been on cloud nine ever since. I hope my essays will serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration in your own quest for higher education!
