Oliver Berke

Lover of writing, history, and helping, currently attending Princeton University. Wishing good luck to all those joining the college ranks (and to those deciding to go in a different direction as well), for while the process may be aggravating and heartaching and everything in between, perhaps we'll all find some level of solace at one point on our long journeys.

I used the method of dividing schools up into Safety, Target, and Reach and assembled a list of about 17 schools from that list. It's good to have a lot of options available when applying to colleges; I also used time during WInter Break to bang out a lot of my applications. The secret is to try and transfer the content of one essay from one college application to another, making your work a lot easier to get done and saving on time. Just change around the name of the college in your response and maybe make a few adjustments based on wordcount, but overall, I think it's a winning strategy.

How did you manage the stress of the application season?

What helped me a lot was submitting basically the same essay to multiple schools; for some of the schools' questions (like diversity questions, academic interests questions, extracurriculars, etc.), t
