Computer Science major - ML and Robotics Researcher @ MIT | Millionaire $$$ | $100,000+ in scholarships | NOT A GENIUS: SEE HOW I DID IT

IT HELPS TO HAVE A PLAN AND KNOW WHAT YOU WANT! If your profile is strong enough you can get reliably be guarenteed to get auto-admitted into your state public school. Besides this, I did research into academic programs, location, student life, and financial aid policies of various schools I was interested in and narrowed it down to my top 10 schools - 5 reach, 5 safety. Since some college apps have later deadlines/acceptance cycles than others, make sure you apply to the early admissions for the schools you are most interested in, that way if you get in, you can stop the application process and not have to keep applying to other colleges. Lastly, make sure you start early, and if the school requires or offers interviews, prepare for them ahead of time and make sure you do them.
