Human Physiology at U of Oregon!
My approach was to share my experiences and love for helping people, instead of weighing thoroughly on my academics. I was never a strong student, so I used my talents outside of the classroom to showcase how I thrive.

Personal Statement
The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? I am not afraid to go after what I want. I accept that my goals will require hard work and dedication and are ultimately my responsibility. Leadership was so crucial in my development that by my junior year, I had a teacher call me “Leadership Girl.” I had run for a position in all four high school elections and not won a single one; class president, commissioner roles, and even the ASB President. I thought I would win with the hard work and dedication I put into the student body. When I ran for ASB president, I never expected to lose. Everyone truly knew this would be my year until someone cheated. His bribery and trickery helped persuade the younger grades to vote for him. The devastation I felt was the worst thing I thought I would endure. Leadership had become such an influential part of my world, and losing the singular something I had dreamed about since I was a freshman was undeniably hard. Then, on the third day of senior year, I was cut from the volleyball team. To many, getting cut from a high school volleyball team is not an enormous deal, but to me, it was devastating. Volleyball was a crucial part of my life throughout my schooling. Having started in 6th grade as an exhilarating way to get to know people and get a little extra exercise, it turned into one of the best things I would look forward to in my day. I have made exceptional friends who have seen me through my best and worst and have brought me out of the lows of life. I had built and integrated myself into the community of Carmel High volleyball. I would buy jerseys when the others did not fit me, donate money during fundraisers, and volunteer at events and games, working almost every home game. The coaches had become family and would support me in anything I did. They became a family to me, and I never imagined losing the bonds I had built over the last three years. After the last day of tryouts, when I was the only returning senior who did not get pulled into the room where we would ultimately face the head coach, I knew something was about to change. My stomach dropped as I walked back into the room, already holding back my tears. The rest of the time is all a blur, too detrimental to remember. I remember walking out and seeing a coach crying, too, because he knew I was not coming back. The home I built in the program came crumbling down on top of me like a building in a hurricane, once filled with memories and now only sorrowful. The devastation stuck with me, bringing me down for the next month. Even if I lost all of the elections I have run in or a spot on a team, they have shaped me into the person I am today. The skills I have learned along the way from these prominent people and interactions are powerful. I persevere and have learned to channel my energies into new adventures. I started playing lacrosse, pioneered the feminism club, gave a Ted X talk about mental health for student- athletes, joined the superintendent’s student council, and many others. The loss of two of my favorite activities in school freed me to spend more time in sports medicine and ultimately helped me choose a career path.

The one thing that has deterred me from other competing universities is the education. Immediately upon thinking of education at a university, copious amounts of people think of the level of competitiveness. For me, it's a specialization in my desired field. Helping my peers has become a major part of my life since I was young. I started from a young age, first working with children at the age of 11, and have been told I was gifted when it comes to helping others. Between sports medicine throughout high school and many hours of community service, it has been one thing I want to carry over. The availability of a master's program for athletic training allows me to grow my roots at Baylor and get involved without having to transfer to another institute to become certified. Being able to stand on the field and help athletes who want to play at the next level or do, is an ideal career for me. Baylor's extensive sports culture has drawn me to the university as well. With a fantastic football line-up, featuring some of the nation's best linemen, a spectacular tennis team, and my personal favorite a star-studded volleyball team, Baylor has anything a sports-obsessed student could ask for. When referring to the proper place to continue learning, a college tour guide said "when you know, you'll know". When I went to Baylor, the second I stepped on campus, I knew that it was the right school for me to continue my social and academic future. Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at any educational institution you have attended from the 9th grade (or the international equivalent) forward, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in a disciplinary action? These actions could include, but are not limited to: probation, suspension, removal, dismissal, or expulsion from the institution. No

University of Michigan
Communities Essay While I've struggled to find a sense of community in the floater lifestyle I have imposed upon myself, the one community I've felt the most connected to is the ASB community. Since Freshman year, my involvement in leadership has led to life-long memories and experiences I'll always be able to cherish. I've learned many lessons in communication, collaboration, interpersonal skills, and how to work with others through interactions with upperclassmen involved in the class. Using these skills I've been able to feel a sense of community in my school and used it to benefit others. One of the most important comprehensive issues at our school was installing stadium lights. I was allowed to be a part of the ASB group that helped set up a petition to install lights. Watching alumni from some of the first CHS classes to middle schoolers interested in their future, come together as one is the most connected to the community as a whole I have felt. Even with the sense of community I've felt through leadership, I've felt it even more through the strong sports community in my area. Through sports medicine and leadership, I was able to manage the boy's basketball team during their season following a section title. While my expectations for the team's performance were high, they did not always succeed to the level of expectation everyone had for them. In that, we were able to all relate to each other and became a found family. The struggle of canceled games and players quitting, being able to push through, brought upon a level of respect I have never seen before. Even with a record of 3-21, the only thing that mattered was the family and friendships we found in each other. Why that College or School? The University of Michigan has so many opportunities that would put someone through its doors. For me, it’s the school of kinesiology. The state-of-the-art facility where I can continue my education and further pursue my passion for helping others has become the quintessential place of study. When I joined sports medicine in my sophomore year, I knew I wanted to continue with

Purdue University (West Lafayette)
Why Purdue? Purdue may have different things that attract people through its door. Still, for me, the academic and sports life balance, the extracurriculars available to all students, and the school's culture are all alluring. Being able to effectively study Kinesiology with an exceptional program is so essential to my desired career. A momentous sports culture has been a make or breaks with many colleges. Being able to effectively balance a riveting sports atmosphere and academic culture is imperative. The arts can get overshadowed, but the availability of art galleries and theater performances all draw me in to attend Purdue. Why Major? Kinesiology is essential to my desired career path, and Purdue can help me achieve exactly that. In the future, I plan to become an athletic trainer. Being able to experience helping athletes on
