UChicago Transfer | CS & Econ @ UChicago '26 | NY Public High School
I've been through the college process twice now, as a freshman applicant and a transfer applicant! My approach, and I believe the reason for a lot of my success, was my really creative approach. You only have ~1000 combined words per college to show that you're not just "any other applicant", so use that opportunity wisely! I also worked on some really impressive extracurriculars outside of school, like a podcast interviewing Forbes 30 Under 30 members. and a mentorship with a world-renowned hedge fund manager. I've included the essays that I felt were really notable below. I also seriously recommend you read my UChicago essay if you have the chance, whether applying to UChicago or not, as it perfectly sums up what colleges are looking for and wraps it with a lot of creativity. Wish you the best of luck!
