Jazz drummer, aspiring programmer, lover of Chick-fil-A,
I based my application process off of my strengths and interests and matched them with respective programs at universities. I was interested in computer science and music, so I made sure each college on my list was strong in those departments. I also factored in location, acceptance rate, and alumni experience. In total, I had 10 colleges on my list: about 4 safety, 3 target, and 3 reach. As for the writing aspect, I made sure that my application accurately represented me as person and revolved around central themes.
