I applied to over 15 colleges, but I didn't apply to any of them early (a bad decision). Overall, the application process was a really great way to further explore my identity, childhood experiences, and career interests. My biggest piece of advice would be to be authentic. Don't read TOO many stellar essay examples because that may block your ability to make your essay your own and may even diminish your confidence in your own essays. Don't get me wrong, essay tips are great and examples can help so you know what the end product should look like, just don't go overboard. I know I did, and it made the essay-writing process so much harder. Basically, don't try to make your essay too similar or different from an amazing example you read. Just make sure it tells a story about you and sounds like you. I also wasted time writing and rewriting unique essays for each school I applied to. This was unnecessary because the supplemental essay questions often overlap in more ways than one. I recommend using The college essay guy's guide to writing super essays (and saving 20+ writing hours) -- you won't regret it! Good luck applying! I hope my essays help, I worked really hard on them. Just remember to enjoy writing about your cool experiences, so your readers can feel that through your writing :)
