There's no secret recipe behind it, there are just infinite ways to approach it. The way I did it was ~ with 70% focus on school, 20% on SAT and TOEFL, and 10% on extracurriculars. I believe that to get into top schools, you need to be an exceptional storyteller, and of course, be an interesting dude.
