Incoming History Ph.D. student at Yale interested in Physics, Early Soviet History, and Choral Music!
When it came to college, I knew that it was one of the most important decisions of my life. Therefore if I couldn't be genuine and get in, it wasn't worth it to go in the first place. I tried to emphasize my passions and breadth of interests in my applications, rather than highlighting test scores or academic proficiency, which are critical, but are also covered by other statistics in the common app. I originally applied to 12 American schools. I got into 11 of them (including Yale, Columbia, Brown, UChicago, and UPenn) and waitlisted in 1. I am happy to share my experiences with you so you have a better idea of what it takes to turn a highly-skilled academic profile into an Ivy League admittance!
