Theater kid, aspiring Suzanne Collins, incredibly loud singer, mac 'n' cheese connoisseur
So... I went a little overboard. I ended up applying to 22 schools (including the University of California colleges), which, granted, is a lot, but I wanted to cover all my bases. Do I recommend this to everyone? Absolutely not. If you feel absolutely prepared and really want to apply to over 20 schools, all power to you. But it is 100% not necessary. My dream school was (and still is, yay!) Stanford, but I got deferred originally when I applied through Restrictive Early Action (REA). I almost ended up applying for Early Decision II to another university after this disappointment, but I cannot be more glad that I ultimately decided against it. On April 1st, 2022, I opened my acceptance letter from Stanford and was finally able to put the entire college application process behind me. No matter what your college journey looks like, know that it will work out in the end! Hopefully, my application is helpful to you as you navigate this tricky time. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

How did you decide where to apply early?
As cheesy as it sounds, I followed my heart. I realized that I couldn't apply to a school through Early Decision (ED) if I wasn't 110% sure that I was going to be happy there. And when I looked at the

Were you accepted anywhere without an interview, or with a poor interview?
I was interviewed for Princeton, Northwestern, Dartmouth, UPenn, and Swarthmore. Spoiler alert: I wasn't accepted into any of these schools. I don't think my interviews went badly, either. Of course,

How did you manage the stress of the application season?
Not well, let me tell you. I was stressed out constantly, to the point that my family really didn't enjoy being around me because I was so prone to snapping at them randomly. Balancing seven classes,

How did you build your college list?
Honestly, I had a lot of help from my private college counselor. My family hired a professional advisor to help me navigate the process, and she came in especially handy when building my college list.
