Yale grad who loves renewable energy, travel, and the arts!
I visited every college I was considering applying to and attended lots of info sessions when the admissions officers came to my city, eventually settling on a top 7 to apply to. I was deferred from my ED school, but then received Likely letters from two of my regular apps that were actually more selective. You never know where you'll get in, so never give up :)

How did you decide where to apply early?
I applied early at a school that did not recruit athletes (those that do don't actually have a higher early acceptance rate when you take that into account). I thought it would boost my chances, but i

Advice re: deferment and rejection
I applied ED to UPenn because I thought I had the greatest chance of getting in, and was deferred. I was afraid my Ivy dreams were crushed, but submitted a Letter of Interest nonetheless, reaffirming
